The video camera is not a real "killer feature" of the new iPod Nano. But since my 1st Gen Nano needs to be replaced anyhow (2GB is far to little) it is a nice to have.

Here comes my question: How do you download the videos taken with the iPod to your Mac? Only using some iTunes sync?

Call me "old-fashioned" but I like my gadgets to use a "mass storage option". Plug it in and should appear as a drive on the computer. I do not want to use {iTunes|iPhoto|iMovie}.

If somebody already owns an actual generation iPod Nano, please share your experience.

Disk use is mandatory, it seems. I don't have the option to turn it off.

I think this is because it takes video, and you get the video straight from the Nano, not by syncing.

Mine mounted, as it should, I opened it up and looked in the DCIM folder. There you will find your .mp4 files.

Yea these new nanos seem to always be mounted on the desktop when plugged in.
