Bug 3.1 and iTunes 9 will not sync songs back purchased on iPhone to Mac

I bought a song through the iTunes app on my 3GS today over 3G and when I went to sync the song back to my computer, the song did not get synced over.
I think its a bug with 3.1 and iTunes 9. Everything else synced fine but this one song did not sync over to the computer, even after when I selected "transfer purchases." Its stuck on the iPhone unable to be synced back to my computer.

So my question is - how the heck do I get this song off my iPhone and onto my Mac?

It won't sync apps downloaded and/or updated apps back to the computer either.

Please someone, how do I fix this? It's really annoying.

3 Months later in this bug is still happening. Only it doesn't happen all of the time.
