Running a PB or iBook with lid shut?

Another 2 pre-purchase questionw here....

1. My idea is to hook it to an external monitor, and use a bluetooth mouse and keyboard to work. If I go with either an iBook or a PB, can I run it with the lid shut? That's be much nicer than keeping it open...

2. I have an old 14" VGA Samsung monitor - can I hook that stright up to a PB or iBook? Do I need an adaptor of any sort?

Ans 1) you can't run an iBook with lid closed, the powerbook can. Even if you use the clamshell hack for the iBook, you wont be able to wake it up with bluetooth mouse.

Ans 2) Both can do it. Both adaptors, mini-vga to vga(iBook) and mini-dvi to vga(pb) are included.

and mini-dvi to vga(pb) are included. Or full DVI -> VGA, if the PB is a 15" or 17"
