Hi everyone,

As an iPhone user, I'm very attracted to many features of MobileMe. I began to look on eBay to see if I could scour a good deal or two (perhaps knock $15-20 off the purchase price of $100) and found many deals like this for only $22:

http://cgi.ebay.com/5GB-Apple-MobileMe-Family-Pack-Account-1-yr-service_W0QQitemZ250490090718QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Software?hash=item3a525f74de&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14#ht_1622wt_1167

What's the deal with these? Will they work? How can they sell them for so cheap?

Thanks!

What you're doing is buying a sub account of a family pack.

This thread talks about it, and contains another thread link with more info:

I bought one of these types of "deals" without realizing it's a family pack. The ad I bought from said individual account. It was active for one month before being cancelled by either Apple or the seller. . . don't do it.

I just bought my MobileMe subscription from eBay and noticed some of these tricksters. There were plenty of authentic Single User packages for sale but there were a few of these sub-accounts from a broken up family account.

As for the authentic packages, if the seller has good feedback then there shouldnt be a problem. Although you are buying an activation code its still a product like any other and if it doesnt work you can go through eBay and PayPal to get your money back.

I bought a full subscription off ebay for $50. There are some good deals but beware of the scammers and make sure they have good reviews for selling similar items.

I do not doubt there may be authentic subscriptions for sale, but beware that the feedback count is part of the scam. The scammer who got me had hundreds of positive feedback on a multitude of different items.

Do NOT buy an account from a family pack (5gb). I did buy a 1 year subscription for 20$ on ebay and it worked .... for 2 weeks.

I thought I did some research but I guess I missed to find the right info at the time.

I want to give credit where it's due. I was within time to make a dispute to Paypal and they refunded my money...so I guess PayPal gave me some credit cause it was due! :)
