If anyone is interested in evaluating some new freeware forum software that we are currently developing, you may download it from the following site.

http://www.class1web.co.uk/downloads.php

We have a version of it up and running on our site too to post feedback about the software and ask questions.

http://www.class1web.co.uk/forum/index.php

I am also currently in the process of setting up this software on my new Macland UK site.

Any feedback would be great.

Regards,

Richard Seale

why or how is this any better than the current opensource and free forum software that is already available?

It looks ok for a 0.22 beta, however i would say it does appear as if you're just duplicating the layout and functionality of phpBB. As mnkeybsness suggested, you really need something unique or unusual to stand out from the crowd.

Maybe rather than developing a basic forum application you could get involved with development of one of current full featured open source options that are already well established. I mean I like a good forum as much as the next guy, but if great options are already there, free and open I couldn't justify putting my time into building something completely new.

Eventually it will be as good as and if not better than the established ones out there. It is by far the fastest Forum software that I have used so far and it's has a very simple clean interface. The other advantage is IMHO it is the easiest one to set up and configure.

In what ways? Personally I am looking forward to features like Coverage being launched for Invision as the possibilities will then grow. What ground breaking features do you have planned to intice us to try your software over others?

In defense of sealey, why don't you guys just try it out instead of asking him/her to defend his work. If you don't like, submit feedback, but don't bash a person cause he/she wrote YAFS.
