yo I'm on leopard.

I enabled view item info so it looks all snazzy and **** .The problem is it says 297.77 GB,,...62 GB free when i have way more free space

how i fix this yo

The ... is telling you that it's not displaying the full information.
The actual value could be something like "297.77 GB, 250.62 GB free". Right click and 'Get Info' to see. Or have a look at Disk Usage in Activity Monitor.
To see the whole message at once you could right click on the desktop and select 'Show View Options', you can change the text size to see if you can see it all.
 
Just a note that instead of changing the text size, you can increase the grid spacing until the full information is shown.
