Ok, I thought I would start another thread for this. What are your top few favorite songs/bands. Post a link to the Apple Music Store (if they are there).
I really like this band Atmosphere. Their lyrics are sweet. Here are my fav. songs by them:

well here go mine Rock/ pop-punk/ screamo
A few from the chicago suburbs, aka where i'm from and also my favorites:
www.luckyboys.com ~ Lucky Boys Confusion, definately a top band in my opinion, they just got dropped from elektra in a large cut, but they are really hopeful for the future.
www.falloutboyrock.com ~ Fall Out Boy, also from near me, seen them live a few times and they are defiantely booming. Cool new acoustic EP and their latest CD.
And non chicago bands
www.Takingbacksunday.com ~ Taking Back Sunday, I heard an advanced copy of their new album Where You Want To Be, very good but not as good as tell All your Friends
And Coheed and Cambria.

Dashboard Confessional (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=2928407&selectedItemId=2928339) is my favorite band as of now, and I really like Avril Lavigne's (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=7574208&selectedItemId=7574183) new album. But beyond that, I'm a Mozart/Jazz/Movie soundtrack fan, so I guess I'm not too much help to the favorite "bands" thread. :)

Also, Hound Dog Taylor, Lou Reed or Velvet Underground, Black Eyed Peas, Sex Pistols, BB King, and Jet are all in the regular iTunes rotation...

I'm currently possessed by this new band, Los Lonely Boys, recorded by Willie Nelson at his studio near the Pedernales river (I think?) who also plays on the album. This is the single, but the whole album is awesome:
Heaven (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=5353725&selectedItemId=5353703)
They attribute influences to Santana and Stevie Ray Vaughan if that helps. Onda really bears heavy Santana resemblances. Other than that, check out the Daily Tunes list from my sig... ;)

The Beatles!
Good Charlotte played at my high school, they are from around here. Honestly, they are not very nice people, my friend and his friends beat the crap out of some of them because they were being rude to his friends sister, well back in the day, the story goes.
Other bands...
Mineral
The Appleseed Cast
Q and Not U
Belle & Sebastian

Hmm, this is a tough question... A few of my favorite bands/artists at the moment are:
Brad Mehldau
Radiohead
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Elliott Smith
WOOT for Mehldau. His cover of "Blackbird" is the best that I have ever heard. Too, all of his Radiohead covers rock my socks off.
Props for the others as well.
Right now Donovan (60's psychedelic) is on my hot list.
Hurdy Gurdy Man (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=827774&selectedItemId=1330951)
This brings joy to my heart, to see "Hurdy Gurdy Man" on any list. That song gets far too little respect, it deserves much more.
Some on my list, in addition to those listed above:
2skinnydorks (http://2skinnydorks.homestead.com/)
2 A.M. Orchestra (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/2amorchestra)

Saeta (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewArtist?artistId=6324787) (iTMS link)
any band on Barsuk Records (http://www.barsuk.com/web.cgi)
half the bands on Jade Tree Records (http://www.jadetree.com/) - particularly Miighty Flashlight, Joan of Arc (any Kinsella Bro's project, actually)
half the stuff on Absolutely Kosher Records (http://www.absolutelykosher.com/) - particularly summer at shatter creek, the wrens, pinback, and frog eyes. email Absolutely Kosher to get on their mailing list, and they'll give you a free cd sampler.
There's more, but this is long enough for now.

I am really digging Keane at the moment.
I have just bought a brand new secondhand bass - and am getting into dub music. Got Burning Spear's Marcus Garvey which is cool. I like Eek - a - Mouse, Marley etc but Police & Thieves by Junior Murvin has got to be one of my all time faves.
There are some great artists at my site too (link in signature) - hey why not fill up your ipods for free? - and help discover some new talent too ;)
