That looks pretty, pretty good! Wake up Apple, you got serious competition on your heals.

Would like to see full specs. though but certainly seems like something I may like to have.

They did mention the core i7 mobile... So it would be pretty decent.

If its a good computer, I'm not concerned with HP taking some designs from Apple. Thats just how products like this should work. See a good idea on another product? Add it to yours, while upping it even more. Don't just copy, improve on a good idea(which HP seems to have done here, along with a robust line up of other laptops which are made of different designs)

Or Sony's. Don't forget the MBP's keyboard is pretty much a lift from Sony's x505 (circa 2003). Most of Apple's successful designs are inspired. Nothing wrong with that, just saying...

Chiclet keyboard looks good when it matches the rest of the computer. Even HP, makes of those gaudy Copper colored notebooks, can even color match.

Not bad at all. I'd consider it, but I still got 3 more years on this mbp.

I'm afraid now, its a love affair.

Judging from the pics it's color calibration out of the box is totally off. The water in those pictures is purple.

Also it seems the external display connector is HDMI and most likely won't support anything higher than 1920x1200. Likewise no FW800.

The slim extra battery is a great idea though.

Although I personally hate HP products, that looks really nice and mac-ish. I want to try it out.

This laptop may have its eye-catching 'curves' but Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard, consummate engineers, would be turning over in their graves if they saw the state of the packaging engineers their company has hired. :D

Is there really a need to go over 1920x1200 resolution, because I can't really think of a reason to go a higher than that res.

Based on the specs of the 13in model, it seems to me it is more of a MBA competitor. It uses the same intel SL line of cpu, but if I am not mistaken the ATI4330 is bit better than the nvidia 9400.

Absolutely! I have a 30" 2560x1600 display and I love that I'm able to use it with my MBP. In fact I wouldn't have even bought the laptop if it wasn't possible. Running at a non-native res would be just blurry.

I know most people don't have monitors with that high resolutions but since it's possible with Displayport (and actually with the newer HDMI versions too but there are no displays that support them) it's really nice to have.
