How can I rip these type of streams? It's an RTSP-protected stream, so I can't merely download it with Safari. I've seen programs available for Windows, but I'm still looking for a Mac alternative. Anyone have experience with this?

The URL I need is:
rtsp://a1756.v8752b.c8752.g.vr.akamaistream.net/ondemand/7/1756/8752/1089166200000/origin.media.cbc.ca/clips/national/thenational.rm

One solution - not free - is SnapZ Pro (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/). It works well for what you need, but there might be cheaper/easier solutions. I like it, though.

Thanks! I hadn't considered screencap utilities, but this one is very good. I like being able to customize the video/audio codecs used.. I'll be buying this one.

Good recommendation.
