I'm always a little suprized how this happens every time new firmware is released...

You'd think if people have been on Macrumors before they'd have known from the last year of updates or from the warnings posted MONTHS before when the beta firmware was coming out... DON'T UPGRADE if you don't want to lose Jailbreak. :) Oh well.

I hope it comes out soon :)

I'm still waiting patiently, unjailbroken on 3.1. Enjoying the speed like everytime I've unjailbroke, saying its better this way, but rejailbreaking anyways and it gradually, and pretty much unnoticably getting slower till I unjailbreak again.

Im in the same boat. All I need from JBreak is boss sbsettings so I can turn on-off wifi and locations and 3g on the FLY. And backgrounder, and of course now KIRAKAE (hope they come up with a better name cause I cant remember the correct name). this is the app that you can press the home button twice and you can switch apps that are open.

I REALLY miss these apps.

I do have an itchy trigger finger when it comes to updates, but I've so far managed not to update to 3.1 yet.

It was painful living without my jailbreak from the time the 3GS was released to the time the first 3GS jailbreak (purplera1n) came out. I was tempted to go back to using my old 3G during that time but it really became sluggish after 3.0. I can wait for 3.1... esp now that I have MMS working on 3.0 :D

What device do you have? Jailbreak for everything iPhone 3G and older is out for 3.1

I have no clue how you can live w/o jailbreak. I think people that don't like it either haven't fully utilized the jailbreak or don't use their phone like I do.
Logmein was my fav program and now i don't have it b/c of no jailbreak, same with orb!! I'm so disappointed! Hope that it comes out soon.

Also, i realized that i would be losing my jb but i also thought that i'd be gaining mms...which i haven't. Piece of crap at&t...

The one thing I couldn't stand to be without though, is SBSettings and Rotation Inhibitor.
Using SBSettings has become second nature for me now, and it's so great to be able to alter settings from within apps and when playing videos.

The only thing I JB is lockinfo, which according to what i've been told doesn't work on 3.1
Which makes me sad.

It's fun for a while but you'd rather not do it for long. I have every thing I need on 3.0.1, tether, mms, and a kick butt personalized phone. I will not be updating until jb is ready.

Glad your happy... but I don't see what that formula proves about there being no need... I do see that it proves you can't yet. :p

What if you wanted to theme your phone? What if you wanted to be able to use VOIP or Slingbox over 3G? What if you wanted to get all of your missed calls, calendar entries and emails on your lockscreen for fast access along with weather? How about hiding icons? Maybe getting a Notification icon on the statusbar so if you're in an app and feel your phone vibrate you know what the heck it's for?

I can think of lots of reasons why, even with iTunes 9, 3Gs and OS3.1 (which added nothing useful), you'd possibly have a need to jailbreak...
