The print catalog of Macconnection.com lists Virtual PC for Mac 7.0 with a picture of the box. That's news to me, especially since Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/virtualpc/virtualpc.aspx?pid=virtualpc) doesn't have anything about it. The Macconnection site (http://shop.macconnection.com/web/Shopping/SearchNav.htm?Platform=M) doesn't have it either. Weird...

Sometimes these mailorder firms jump the gun on upcoming products. This is by no means the time. It won't be the last.

I have seen Virtual PC 7 offered in the Macconection Catalog. What is most disturbing is they actually have the pricing listed at I believe $99 for Upgrade and $199 for full version or at least that's what I remember being stated anyhow there was a price point set. How in the world can Mac Connection set the Price point for a yet unreleased product and begin taking preorders?

I'm hoping it means the product is on the horizon. Anyone know the latest word about when VPC7 is scheduled to be released?

I do. Sometime between now and January! :D :D
All this waiting is really annoying. Hurry up Microsoft!

I called today and pre-ordered the software, MacConnection said that the price had gone up to 129.95 from 109.95, but after speaking to the guy on the phone he took it back to 109.95 for me. I asked when it was coming out and he said that their computers showed the middle of this month, but from what he had been hearing it looked like it might not be until the end of the month. Anyway, 120.95 Shipped 2-Day Air, not bad! I just hope it allows me to code in Visual Studio.NET at a descent speed!

Wow! This seems unreal. I hope this means it's coming out soon!
I still can't find the picture of it - can somebody post a direct link?
Thanks,

I just called the devil, I mean Microsoft, for an update on my 2004 Tech guarantee order. They said that Office 2004 Pro going to be be shipping at the end of the month, and that Tech guarantee orders would be receievd 4-6 weeks later. I am fine with September since I am getting it for free. I assume they are using initial stock to cover new paying customers in stores.

I also noticed VPC 7 all over MacConnection this issue, including a variety of pictures of the box (which I had never seen before). Here are some pics:

Interesting. It doesn't look like it's big on new features though. That's kinda sad.

I have wanted to use this ever since I got my G5 last October. Good to see that it seems to be getting close to release.

They really weren't in depth on the features, so I wouldn't worry about it. Any way you look at it, there has to be some improvement to VPC6...right?

I'm going to wait for my Office X 2004 Professional that will come with Virtual PC. Already paid in full. Besides MacConnection charges sales tax in Massachusetts

True, and the only feature I'm looking for is G5 support, which they have, so they have my sale. I just would like to see some really cool features (I have no clue what they would be, but surely Microsoft can innovate, right?).

Is it not going to have video card support? I thought that was the what the whole deal about this version was going to be. It took them this long just to make it compatiable with the G5? I guess it must be harder than I thought it was going to be.

Yeah I'm not sure, that was the rumor I heard too...it does say it has improved graphics support...it's possible that that means native graphics card support, but they don't want to put that in the ad because it's more complex and not as idiot proof as "improved graphics support." Let's hope for the best! :)

My fingers are crossed, but you think that would be one of the biggest selling points? It is just an add for it, they probably know just as much about it as we do.
