Does any DVD/CD burner work in the old Powermac G4s? I want to upgrade my old CD Drive in it.

Thanks!

Any PATA optical drive should work with it.

All the ones on this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010100005%201038406818%201036506653&name=DVD%20Burner) page will work. I believe for the PowerMac G4, you have remove the bezel off whatever drive you buy.

However I do believe you need 10.4 (Tiger) or later to burn DVDs though.

There are many Mac user reviews of DVD drives here. Select IDE for drive type.

There are installation videos near the bottom of this page.

Older versions of OS X may require Patchburn with newer drives.
