Help needed Iphone 2g, 3.1 upgrade

Hi i just updated my Jailbroken 2g iphone using itunes to 3.1 with T-Mobile. BIG MISTAKE, and now im stuck in recovery mode trying to restore it to a jailbroken 3.1 but I keep getting a 1600-1604 error.

I place it in DFU mode and back to recovery mode, Using both itunes 9 and itunes 8.2 but still no Luck

Can anyone help, it's 3am in the morning and I really need to get this done so I can use my phone today

Hmm... 3.1 seems to be causing many problems. There is a thread about this:

Unfortunately, nobody seems to be sure of a fix or a reliable workaround....

Its now 3:40 and after no replies I googled and found iRecovery and that took me out of recovery mode and i can finally enter true DFU

Yup got it back to 3.1 but now all my data is gone so now i gotta figure out how to get my backup restored, anyone?

If I understand the question right: In iTunes, right click the phone in the left-hand window and you'll find you can restore your data from your backup.
