How do I recreate this spiral pattern?

Can any tell me how to recreate this spiral pattern in Illustrator.

Because FreeHand allows you to record several transformations (click starting point, copy, angle, resize, command-d...), though not trivial, it would be easier than Illustrator. Hence, I am also interested in reading how one might accomplish this in the latter.

Though I have made the transition from FreeHand, insufficient transformation actions, charting interface/options, gradation fill styles that retail angle information are three of my grips about Illustrator.

I'm not to great with Illustrator and I had the idea of having a spiragraph pattern as part of an insurance companies logo but I cant make the spiragraph pattern. I have done a lot of looking around the web but not come across anything. So I too would be hugely grateful to anyone who can point us in the right direction.
