Hi,

It seems that the Titanium Powerbooks still command a high price on eBay, some of which are comparable to that of the newer Aluminum powerbooks. Why is that? Are Titanium powerbooks better?

Personally, I like the design of the aluminum powerbooks.

The titanium powerbooks are a lot more durable. They are rumored to be able to stop bullets... :D

the only significant advantage Ti offers is the ability to boot OS 9...

other than that, Al specs are better, though not so superior to make the last batch of Ti's (with 1 GHz G4, SD) "obsolete"...

Hey! Who are you calling "obsolete!"

The reasons Titaniums still demand a high price is that they were only discontinued in 2003. Apples have a high resale value you know. I could sell my Tibook and get a faster 12" without loosing money (except to match the RAM I'd have to buy a 1GB stick separately).
