Quicktime X screen recording - Why is it purple?

ok, I figured it out, I posted this in the Apple Discussions thread:

I had this and just figured it out. Are you using a custom colour profile? Try quitting QuickTime X, selecting the default colour profile, and the restarting Quicktime X. This solves the purple - must be something in the colour profile the recording pa doesn't understand. For the record, my custom profile was made with Color Eyes software.

It would interesting to know if yours is colour profile related, and how you generated that profile. SPyder 2 profiles don't cause the purple, for example.

Also, remember to quit Quicktime X in between - it obviously uses the profile it reads upon loading the app.
