My MBP always closes my applications before going into standby mode

Hi,

when I leave my MBP on for a while (or activate standby manually) my system closes all applications before going into standby as if I would turn it off!!

I cant seem to find any option in my system to set or reset that annoying thing.

And it is reeaally annoying ... searching google and forums was no help :-(

I have a 2x 2.53ghz 4gb 15,4 inch newest Model with OSX Snow Leopard 10.6

Please help me!
