Any competitors to Neuros OSD?

Looking to see if there are any other stand alone, analog A/V to hard drive video converters?

I've tried the Elgato EyeTV 250. Didn't like it since it tied up my notebook whenever recording. Returned it.

I currently have a VHS/DVD recorder but that adds a middle step to getting it on the computer. Not to mention that DVD's are Mpeg 2/low quality.

The iRecord Pro has some pretty decent specs! Anybody have some experience with this product? Is my post in the wrong forum?
