I purchased my refurbished iMac on August 31th and it was delivered to my house on September 9th. You all probably know about the rumors of the redesign and upgrades to the iMacs expected in October. It is still in mint condition and I have the original boxing. Is it returnable? Is it worth it for me to go through the hassle of packing it up, paying the restocking fee and waiting for the new iMacs (if they even are released?). Thanks.

No because no one knows for sure when new ones will come out. Also, if it was a BTO/CTO then you cannot return it. Finally, how come it is suddenly incapable?

If there is nothing wrong it, keep it.

1. There may not even be an iMac upgrade
2. It may be delayed so you won't have an iMac for ages...
3. The changes may be quite minor
4. Too much bother, if it works, keep it =)

Plus, if you still are not happy when the new iMac does come out, you can always sell it for a new one. But like these posters say, I'm sure it won't be a major upgrade feature-wise. Just cosmetics. I remember when I bought a white G5 iMac and then the redesigned aluminum ones came out. I was a little bit jealous at first but after a week or so, my G5 worked just as well at the time and thought if I upgrade, I'll be just as impressed with my old one. Now, if it's a 3-4 year difference, then that may be something to consider.

Just curious, is this true? You can't return a BTO iMac? Does the 14 day return policy not apply to BTO machines as well?

Never mind. Just found the policy on their site. That kinda stinks. What about if there is a price drop within 14 days and you bought a BTO. Would they issue a price adjustment or credit?

Yes and it is 30 days for the price lock not 14.
