hello guys,
I've just received my first MacBook Pro, so I'm kind of a new mac user. The snow leopard has Subversion(1.6.2) and Apache Maven(2.0.9) already built in. However I want to use the latest version.

I noticed 'svn' and 'mvn' command are located in /usr/bin directory. Can I simply delete them and install my own latest version?

Why not install in /usr/local instead, and add the new Subversion bin directory to the path? That way you get to keep Mac OS intact in case the shipped Subversion is touched by a future software update.
