The Airport Extreme is supposed to operate simultaneous 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. I take that to mean they can both be run at the same time. If so, how do I set them up to operate simultaneously? Thanks.

I think it does it automatically.

This may seem like an obvious question but do you have one of the newer Airport Extremes? They were updated about 6 months ago (guess) to have simultaneous broadcasting. My Time Capsule is slightly older than that and can only broadcast one frequency at a time.

I know I bought the latest Airport Extreme and the box indicated simultaneous bands. Maybe I should re-phrase my question:
How do I tell whether the Airport Extreme is broadcasting both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands?
Thanks.

In AirPort Utility click on Manual Setup. The info will be on the Summary tab.

...it can do both 2.4 and 5 Ghz N freq's... mainly though it also gives a full strength b/g signal and a full strength n signal = sim dual bands...
The Airport utility should walk you right thru the setup process...
