iMac with burned in image that goes away after a while.

Has anyone ever seen this before. I noticed it two days ago and it shows up real good with a blue background. But after a while it goes away. Could it be a software thing of is my screen getting ready to go out?

think i read elsewhere on the forum that this can be a sign of overheating - not totally sure tho tbh

This is a common problem on iMac's. Mine had it and I followed the instructions on Apple's site. I left my white screensaver running overnight and it went away and hasn't come back for several months. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2807
