I have a 2.66 GHz Core2 Duo Aluminum iMac that I've upgraded to 4 GB Ram. Yep, it's my main machine, for sure.

Cool! When my 2007 intel iMac konks out I'm going to get either the latest high end iMac (like you:D) or a 15" MacBook PRo. I've having a hard time deciding lol...

iMac - 2007
2.8 core 2 extreme, 750 gig, ATI radeon 2600 pro, 4 gigs of ram
Main machine. I really am happy, but I am craving a quad core mac pro. Waiting for the next update to see what happens before I decide what to do.

Yes, I have 3 iMacs: a G4 flat panel, G5 (no iSight), and 2008 2.4ghz 4gb ram. Unfortunately yes, the 2008 model is my main computer. I say unfortunately because of the glass over it. I never realized how much of an impact it would make on my eyes. The glass is very bad for you. My vision went way down over the past year that I've owned the device. I don't know what Apple was thinking and I ONLY suggest buying an iMac once they have a Matte screen option - or at least once they get rid of the glass. It's not the glare that's the problem for me, it's not the way that the glass looks that is the problem for me, but the impact it has on your eyes is incredibly bad. It causes huge eyestrain.
I'm on the G4 right now (friend just found it in the dump, replaced the HDD and it works perfectly. All for $60, and that was the cost of the HDD:cool:). It looks great and I think Matte will be the only way for me to go in the future. Not that I dislike glossy's, I can use them, but I prefer Matte and I will never EVER buy a display panel with glass over it again.

Yes, my iMacs are my main machines. :)
After owning multiple Apple laptops, their desktops are EASILY my favorite units.

I use my MBP a lot...more so than my iMac. I got so use to using it when I was abroad that it feel natural to me to be on it.

Mine used to be but now my 17" MBP has filled it's shoes. Now the 20" iMac is for backup or to render things overnight, kinda like split duty if you will. The iMac has and is still great for me but needing something to be portable and pack a punch, the MBP is the main Mac now :D

Nice Machines! Though why does one have a num pad and the other doesn't...? Did it just come like that?

As of yesterday my '09 iMac is my main machine at home, w/ 1TB internal disk and 1.5TB external via FW800, mostly for iLife and gaming needs. Prior to that MBP was my main machine, and still gets the most use since I use it for work 40+ hours a week. In third place is my mini which will take on a new role as an HTPC as soon as my order from Monoprice comes in. :)

The one on the right looks like the Bluetooth Apple keyboard, which lacks a numpad. The left KB is the USB Apple Keyboard, w/ numpad.

It is now!
My PC was dying a slow death and despite my best attempts to keep her going, I accepted defeat and started looking for a new machine.
Decided that for the same price as a decent PC, I could get a good Mac, which would be up to date for longer and would do exactly what I wanted just fine.
I am so impressed with it!!
Have a Windows laptop, but that has been in my other half's posession pretty much since I bought it anyway!

late 2007 iMac here, and yes, my main/only comp.
though if you add up total hours on a computer, my pc at work gets used far more...

Up until march of this year I was using an old pc of about 7 years which still ran quite well, but I had always wanted a mac, so I bought an 09 iMac, 2.66, 320Gb hard drive,2gigs of ram, etc.
I love this thing, and the learning curve is not what I expected it to be, meaning it's been easier than expected. Thank god for this forum and its members, because your information has been invaluable to me since this purchase. Thanks guys.

I´ve an autumn 08 Imac 3.06 Ghz. It´s not my main computer, but it´s the one that convinced me to make the switch from Widows to Apple for good.
My main is the 17" Macbook pro (specs in sig). We have another Macbook in my household as well, a 13" unibody.
This may sound like a millionaires villa, but fact is we´re two poor writers that have invested in our main work tool. Apple has made our lives so much easier than it was with windows ...

my iMac is my only computer. I had an Acer laptop (don't know the specs) but love a desktop so much more.
I got interested in the iMac after owning the iPhone for a month. I just loved the OS and interface, and when i saw the iMac, had to have one. I went into best buy and just told the guy "I want that iMac, right there"
I was in and out w/in 20 minutes LOL
I love my iMac I am, still learning new things about it, which makes me love it even more. I was a windows girl for 10+ years only thing I regret is not having an iMac sooner
Oh and I have the 24in iMac
Sorry that got kind of long :D

Yes (see my sig); got it in late 2007, when Leopard was released. It's my first Mac, and based on my experience, it won't be my last.

I'm not quite sure why anyone would buy an iMac as a supplementary computer. It doesn't seem like it was designed for that.
