A friend of mine game me his old copy of the Sims for the Mac, but a classic installer is included. So, I figured, that's not a problem, I've done this kind of stuff before. (Installing in classic then patching to OS X)....
...but uh, the installer says I don't have enough HD space, and doesn't let me continue. Anyone know why?

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with how OS 9 treated HD and how OS X does now.
A few things you can do:
- Contact Aspyr about getting your CD replaced with a version that includes a Carbon installer for a small fee. (I think it's $5)
- Check Aspyr's The Sims page and check the support and files section.
- Contact Aspyr's support team and hope they have a solution you don't have to pay for.
- Install it on another Mac and transfer the whole Sims folder.
I think I ended up re-booting into OS 9 to install The Sims.

I couldn't have said it better. Those are the exact options you should try. I know i ended up booting into 9 to install it, also.

Well, I can't boot into OS 9...
Does anyone have the carbonized version of the Sims they could send me over iChat/AIM?
