Hey, what has happened to MacOS Rumors?
The last thing I heard/read was that they were still available via IP. Last post was June 1. Then, that disappeared.

What's happened to a fixture in the Apple Rumors world?

MOSR is not gone for good, they are just trying to fix some (major) DNS issues.

Prove me wrong. But the direct IP has nbeen DOA for over 4 weeks. They have had sporadic and certainly unprrofessional posting regularity the past 6 to 9 months. And the domain has been DOA for 3 months. DNS problems? I say no way. If they actualy pay a host for the service it would have been fixed long ago. If they hosted themselves, then some sort of simple page would be feasible.

That along with the late, copied, and generally off quality of the past 12 months of MOSR makes me think its dead.

I have been a supporter and reader for as long as I remember of MacOsRumors. I hate to see it gone. But face the facts, they lost all credibility, got lax about updates, probably lost advertisers and readers. Its a long uphill road to climb to have some sort of site again.

But the fact is for at least 2.5 months, they have been unreachable by mere mortals, and the last 4 posts were personal and copies of ld news after the fact. Many more before that were of the same ilk.

As I said above, RIP MOSR.

MOSR is not gone for good, they are just trying to fix some (major) DNS issues.

I don't believe anything from them, look at what they are sayin now:

Rumors is prepared to confirm the existence of Apple Quad PowerMacs from anonymous federal sources nested deep in the grape vine. According to some of our oldest and most reliable sources at IBM, we should see these graphic stomping monsters in time forChristmas, with a high price tag. Almost a dozen informants at high levels have corroborated the following specs of prototype Quad PowerMacs that Apple has deployed for testing with a close partner in the movie industry.

Quad 3GHz PowerPC 975ex G5 processors
1.5GHz frontside bus/processor
1 GB default ECC Fast RAM (expandable to 12GB)
250 GB Serial ATA - 7200rpm (Expandable to 1 TB)
NVIDIA GeForce 6900 Ultra DDL Graphics
16x SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW)
Wireless Apple Keyboard and Mouse
6 PCI Express Slots
56K internal modem
4 handles on top

We are hearing that the Quad PowerMac uses a stretched Cube like enclosure about 50 percent larger than current PowerMac G5 case that kind of looks like something out of the future. Mumblings in the grape vine say that no small number of testers have been testing the Quad PowerMac by placing them on the floor and under desks. If the lights are dim, the Quad can be seen emanating a blue light through its casing, making it look like something from the future, also lighting up the Apple logos and "G5s".

LOL, that is just crazy.

Well, I will eat crow. They DO exist.

That said, they still post a bunch of malarky about personal crisis and way off base specs.

Maybe they are right. But I doubt they have the 'deep' sources any longer. Plus, you need to start easy and spoon feed us some reality if you expect us to believe fantasy.

We should hope that they will remain successful. The more rumors the merrier.

Don't panic

One more reason to NOT post such things in the current events section... http://www.thetechpub.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/icon_twisted.gif http://www.thetechpub.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/new_shocked.gif http://www.thetechpub.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/new_snipersmilie.gif

MacOSRumors is dead. Gone. Long gone. Actually, it's 2001 material, not 2002, 2003, or 2004, since they've failed to keep their server OR their daily updates in tact back during the 2001-2002 transition. We'll see about that Quad 3.0GHz rumor. 96% reliability, I like it.

seamuskrat, leave the crows alone. http://www.thetechpub.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/icon_twisted.gif

Yeah, MacOS Rumors must be gone. In case you've not noticed, the Blogger user posing as MacOS Rumors is a clever troll. Those rumors are satires. They used to post really good news stories... these are nothing like they were. Just read the "Toby" updates.

It's a shame they're dead. MOSR used to be a regular read.

MacOSRumors are back ! And all the funny stuff they make up.

Interesting this time that they don't predict the GREAT STUFF from Apple being just around the corner.

The "MacOSRumors" blog is 100% fake. However the real MacOSRumors (http://www.macosrumors.com) is back.Yes, but as I said before, the fake site was probably going to end up being more accurate than the real site.

Sort of sad to see it go. http://forums.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=11368&stc=1
