Software Question for a Mac newbie

Hi,
I am switching to a mac soon and I have a couple of questions for you helpfulls. What to you use for basic software:
- Email
- Browser
- FTP client

Also, do I need to use toast to burn?

Is there a comprehensive manual for OS X that you like (that has networking in it)?

Email- I use Mail, it comes with the computer and is very easy to use.
Browser- I use Safari, awesome browser which also comes with the computer.
FTP- I use Poisoned, I have tried several and have found that to be the best, you can find it on versiontracker.com.

Burning is built right into the operating system. If you want to burn information you just drag and drop the files onto the cd then when you go to eject the cd it will ask if you want to burn it. If you want to burn music you can do so very easily in iTunes.
