My wife and I were on holiday in Italy during June and we kept hearing a song on the radio that she liked. I'd like to buy it to put on the new iPod mini that I've bought for her birthday, but I can't find it.
Its a "euro-pop" type song, which is a mix various old songs.
The lyrics include the following:
"Last night the DJ saved my life" by "Stay stay stay stay staying alive" (Beegees style)
There is also a sample of "That's the way, uh-huh uh-huh, I like it" by KC and the sunshine band (I think!)
If this means anything to anyone - maybe if you're living in mainland Europe and have heard it - then please can you tell me who the artist is, and ideally where I can buy it from? Haven't managed to find it on iTMS yet!
Thanks in advance.

It might have been one of the 'Stars on 45'-records, that were quite big in the early 80's (I think). The songs were a medley of previous superhits by all kinds of people. They're available on CD as well nowadays, although I have no idea which one contains the songs you mentioned. Maybe you want to check Amazon.

It's probably a custom mix or vs. mix. Could be a white label mix. The best mixes of this type are from the UK. Ask some local DJs. If the songs played one after the other with a crossover fade then it could be a medley and previously mentioned. But chances are it's a DJ mix.

If you come back and you can't find this thread, its probably been moved to the general music discussion in the daily tunes section.

Ha ha iGav! I'd forgotten about Jive Bunny! He's not guilty on this one though!! :D
As it was on the radio quite a few times, I thought maybe it had been released and was in the charts over there or something. I couldn't find it on the mtv europe site though so just wondered if anyone here happened to know it. It wasn't really a mix of the old tracks, as far as I remember it was the same bloke singing bits of all the old songs, rather than mixing the old versions.
Thanks anyway, it was a bit of a long shot.
Here's another one - even more obscure perhaps?!
I'm trying to track down a song that the Tenors sing on the Gondolas in Venice. I heard it a lot when I was in Venice last month. I think it must be called "Ciao Venicia" as the chorus goes something like this:
"Ciao Venezia! Ciao Venezia! Ciao Venezia! Ciao ciao ciao! ........"
Any ideas on this one?

Haha, I was just browsing through some stuff about this song and I came across this thread. Thank Google :-)
It's Eiffel 65 -- An Italian Europop group. The song is called "Voglia di Dance All Night", or "Going to Dance All Night" (there is an English and Italian version).
Go here to listen to it, the lyrics you mentioned are near the end of the song:
