Heh, you don't need one to join the clan. heck, they even accept pc members, blah. The question is, do you want to be in that clan... Considering their inactivity list has always been 3-5x larger than ACTUAL (not what they clam) activity list, most don't.

Rezet/Odin,
I can't find the reason for you to be so negative about our Team. We didn't offend you in any way when you were a member, and now when you're "gone" everything has calmed down a lot. Nobody is complaining about pointless details like you did. Argumenting about some inactive members is pointless. The Team is working very well and more active players are coming in daily. Our Pro and Elite squad of the UT2k4 division is constantly growing, and the main core of our players are getting extremely good and experienced.
What did we ever do to harm you? Would you really want us to start crying for help when we struggled our way through the TWL Onslaught League without you in our roster? Was that the reason you didn't join?
Anyway, I would like you to stay away from our Team, and especially when you get so destructive against us.

Dear Odin, Dimitri or Rezet,
I see that one member of our Team posted a thread here to invite people to our Team, a form of saying "hello we are here and welcome new people that want to have fun". It's quite sad to the team that you saw grow and that you gladly enjoyed to join when it was starting, to see your words and effort to make us all look like fools.
Therefore, besides not thinking that we should pull this kind of stuff here, I feel that I must defend what this Team stands for, what Macrumors members are there doing and to point out that, besides you having your opinion, I think you can have it but keep the respect for the others.
1. Read the rules of submission. We are open minded to the people that want to join us. If, for example, you've got an iBook G3 900Mhz but have a gaming PC rig, you are welcome to join and play with the PC. Its the fact of being a Mac user that counts. We are all there to have fun.
2. The activity problem. Some members dont have the availability to play everyday or even every week. This isnt the army. For example, one of our members is an airliner pilot, and he is most of the time away or only able to come online at odd hours. Nonetheless, when he can play, he will gladly join us on our games.
I dont want Team G5 to get a bad name due to your "issues". We are all there to have fun and play as much as humanly possible for each one. I dont think that the members that make the Team what it is right now deserve your words. It's all I have to say.
P.S. Ninja Turtle you dont need to have a G5 ;)

im one of those people who uses a PC in this clan. Odin i am sorry that im only 14 years old and dont have a job yet to afford a G5. hell, i still need money for college so why don't you just stop talking trash about Team G5? Ever heard the expression: "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

Rezet, I never understood what your beef was with Team [G5] and its leaders, but if it's a personal thing, keep it at that.
They have plenty of players who are dedicated and play often. Albeit, the clan isn't perfect, but then again, who is? I'm not that active of a player but I pretty much enjoy being a part of this clan because when I do have time to play, there is always someone else on willing to play with me. Team [G5] do enter contests and such and I'm pretty surprised we made it as far as we did in the UT2k4 TWL contest. Some of us join just for fun and to have someone else to play with while others join for some serious gaming. The team welcomes both types of players and always has room for more.

OK, enough is enough.
I thought I'd make a reply to this thread for two reasons:
1. I am the chieftain of Clan G5 and as such I reserve the right to respond to criticism such as has been posted above.
2. Things have been said about people whom I like which are not only unfair but also untrue.
Our purpose in this clan is to have some fun playing Warcraft III and have a laugh with the people we meet along the way. We are not some 1337 outfit interested primarily in winning. I'm sure Tiauguinho and Zenith, the Team leaders, feel the same way about it.
With regard to those two people, they have put a massive amount of effort into creating this team over the past year or so and I for one think they deserve credit for doing that. I know that I have had a lot of good times and laugh through my involvement with the clan and I'm sure others have also.
When I joined the clan my initial contact was with Tiauguinho and I had nothing but help and friendship from him, which has continued to this day. As far as I know the experience of others has been the same. If that makes me his bitch then I better start barking now
So, if anyone wishes to join this clan they should get in touch with us, no G5 is necessary. Heck, even skill is optional, take a look at one of Tiauguinho's replays!!
Only j/king man!

Ok.
I see it is time to get some things straight.
I am a Team G5 member for some time now and must say:
Both of the clan-leaders are very supportive and friendly and actually people that love to play games online with other real people. In this case these "real people" are Mac-Users. This makes the Team some kind of special for me.
The Mac community has always been a little group of people sticking together and it is sad to see, that there are always other people destroying this kind of illusion for maybe new members.
Not only new members to the team. Also maybe new Mac-Users.
Offending people you don't know in person is always easy. But this is not a habit that is found in Team G5. We all stick together, have fun talking. And a lot of us members share a lot of thoughts using iChat or any other way.
We are not only gamers... first of all we LOVE the Mac... :D
This finally goes out to the ones who read the thread:
Nevermind crappy words, come and see yourself.
Team G5 is always looking for active members. The bigger the roster gets, the easier online games can be played.
Just wanted to say these words.
keep it up and I hope to see you sometime in battle - friend or foe?

Are you all being paid to recruit or asspenberg and tiagocarvaho sent you as bloodhounds on the steps of someone who thinks this clan is not as good as 6 people make it sound. I've been in that clan of yours since week one, so spare me this noob crap about how you know more about the team than I do (it was even my idea for clan name). And we've been thru times, ups and downs, from fun times initially to growing arrogance of leadership as more cannon meat started to arrive.
I even remember the time when we had like 4-5 active members and when even one of the leaders officially left to play quake3. I also remember when we had 90% of inactive members who "were" always on the list to be taken care of, BUT never "quite" got taken care of. Server passwords disappearing into the thin air and not getting new ones. Ahh who cares, some will like the clan, some won't. And *new inactivity list is there to show that.
Don't want to completely crap on the clan, we had fun times, and I very much enjoyed playing with quite a few active members to whom i must say thanks.
Azn (you got skill bro. And i don't complain about ur PC at all :) )
hydra (best dud in the clan hands down)
chibi (no beef with ya at all dude. good luck with college)

Hi everyone,
I was the first Chieften of Clan G5 and served as chieften for quite a while.
Its true that the clan isn't as hugely active as some other clans. But its also true that we're relaxed, laid back, and have a good time.
Hopefully the clan will continue to grow as more and more active members find there way to us.
Its only a game right? So keep having fun, keep it real ya'all.

What have I ever done to make you offend me like that?! The replies that have appeared in this thread isn't a personal attack on you, but only shows the support of our team members related to the Team. You're only insulting me, and for what reason? Because I agreed with Tiago to demote you from Pro squad when you decided to NOT join the TWL roster and became completely inactive.
From my perspective you've been the most inactive in the whole team since we actually started playing organized (TWL). Think about that for a moment.
If you just had some kind of idea regarding how much time I have spent together with Tiago designing the website, organizing the team, gathering match results, posting updates and keeping everything going on, maybe you'd show me a little more respect than making fun of my name.
I know that you've been with us since day 3 actually, and that you worked your way into Pro squad on March 23, but since we joined TWL you suddenly backed away. Why? Was it because of our inactive members? I kicked them all out for you when you started complaining. It disappoints me to see you getting so angry and destructive against me and Tiago when you had your choice whether to continue as an active supportive player or to become inactive and leave the team. Apparently you chose the latter, but I'm sad to see that you have to pointlessly insult us in some kind of revenge..?

Well Espen, it was a bad idea to try and spell your name like that. But there is more to this story than it may seem from the scratch. It's rather one thing leading to another that irratates you more and more. I didn't join TWL because I wasn't even told about about it (unlike other pro members and even regulars) when it started. By the time Jerry was so kind to notify me about it, there was a whole list of people on the roster there. People, people like Aguna, who hasn't even been in clan for what 2 days (looks like defending her back in march was foolish, wasn't it zenith, considering she is on the inactive list). That was my point all along espen, you were always quick to defend people who u didn't even know. And, most of them never even logged back into their accounts. And for what price? to irratate me.
My inactivity that you refer to settled in when I just stopped caring after a few fights with mr. crvalho and admin passwords disappearing into thin air etc (gee, what are the odds).
I'm sorry you never got the memo about my absence. You could have deleted my name off the web back in april. But atleast I finally see you did it now. Jerry knows more about this story. Talk to him if you care.

I'm sorry to see that you got such bad experiences from Team G5. But I really hoped you would understand that I didn't mean to irritate you in any personal way by defending our new members. This is just my way to care about all the people in our team as they all make it what it is. Being a Pro member doesn't mean that you earn more respect and have more rights regarding how this team works, and you probably remember that we discussed that already. I consider all our members as important to the clan as myself, and you should just take a look at both our elite members at the moment. Hydra and Coco both don't require anything from being an elite member. Tiago and me decided to promote them to the Elite squad when we thought they were good enough, but they haven't required any additional rights or valued their opinions higher than everyone else because of that. This is the essential core of the ideology behind Team G5. And in my opinion it's also the same with the Mac userbase; that we all share a common interest and that we represent an open community with room for everyone's arguments and opinions. Sometimes difficult decisions have to be made and when that happens, the majority is always right.
I know that you feel that your opinions about the Team didn't always come through, and that is probably the main reason for you leaving us. But you had your choice. I gave you very concrete arguments regarding our team's policy and "rules". I tried to explain you the equality we got between our members, but you insisted on having more rights and valued opinions as a pro member because you thought it was something you earned. Then you're wrong. You don't earn to be a pro member when you expect us to consider you to be better than everybody else. Ultimately, it is Tiago and me who makes all the decisions in this team, but in the first place we always, and I mean always, listen to the people that makes this team to what it is.
This is my final reply to you, since I'm very tired of spending such an amount of energy on trying to clear things up with you. Either you understand what I mean with all this, or you continue with your pointless destruction of this Team. It's your choice.

There is no point in making higher level squads if they have no more rights but rather more responibility that two of you self appointed leaders decide to put on someone. I believe in chain of command. You get promoted to higher levels, your responsibility goes up but so do your rights. That's how things work. And if you don't think so, take a look around.
You want to put inactives and elite members on one plate and say "we are all even here. (except 2 leaders ofcourse)" and motivate everyone with some lame carbon copy slogan "we are here to have fun"? I guess your and my ideas of "fun" are't the same then.
Non the less, you got a "nice" "socialist" clan going on there. Keep up the good work.

Why is a "socialist" clan a bad thing per se? I don't understand why US people have this attitude. I think socialism is a good way of running a clan. Just MHO, of course.

Dimitri,
This is getting way out of hand and I shall reply for the last time to any word that you might even say, because i see no point in this discussion or no point at all on your arguments.
1. There is no point in making higher level squads if they have no more rights but rather more responibility
With responsability comes respect. Something that neither you value, understand or even deserve. When someone was promoted, his/hers value on game skill, experience, etc, was something that a priori is respected by the others that dont have them.
...self appointed leaders
Now that has to be the best one. Let me see, for this understanding, Arn is a self appointed leader. He pays for the hosting, he pays for the domain name, he "pays" for the time that he spends writing news, organizing the events for Macworlds, constructing the website, etc. So what we all should do is, have a revolution here, you'll be "leader" of Macrumors and Arn should keep on working and spending his time with updates while paying for the website... right!
You are free to go to Team G5 as you are free to leave. Nothing forces you to stay, belong or whatever. The only society there is, is the one that I share with Espen.
I believe in chain of command. You get promoted to higher levels, your responsibility goes up but so do your rights. That's how things work. And if you don't think so, take a look around.
You are right here. Pity that it only stands as words and not actions on your part.
You want to put inactives and elite members on one plate and say "we are all even here. (except 2 leaders ofcourse)
We are all on the same plate. We all work for the same objective... Having fun while keeping the Team and the Site as organized as possible.
and motivate everyone with some lame carbon copy slogan "we are here to have fun"? I guess your and my ideas of "fun" are't the same then.
Thank god that my idea of having fun is different then yours, mainly because its intended to make everybody have fun on the Team(*disclaimer: doesnt apply to highly egocentrical individuals).
Non the less, you got a "nice" "socialist" clan going on there. Keep up the good work.

Ahh please, everyone knows who is good in the clan and who is not.
You get promoted you should be allowed to have your opinion count higher than others. Again take a look at how successful businesses work; how life works for that sake.
People have to kiss up to you and never speak the word of complaint, then you will be happy.
Now that has to be the best one. Let me see, for this understanding, Arn is a self appointed leader. yeah, i knew you weren't that bright either. I never said that I should be the leader. I just noted that you show arrogance as a self appointed dictator, something I don't see arn doing.
The only society there is, is the one that I share with Espen.
Uh-oh.
You are right here. Pity that it only stands as words and not actions on your part.
I have been patient and to most parts didn't ask for as much as you make it sound. But when you see that you don't give much about any chain of command nor listen to what you don't want to hear (43 days to kick out inactives that entire active team voted for); I thought to complain little louder.
We are all on the same plate. We all work for the same objective... Having fun while keeping the Team and the Site as organized as possible.
More like everyone but you and espen.
Thank god that my idea of having fun is different then yours, mainly because its intended to make everybody have fun on the Team(*disclaimer: doesnt apply to highly egocentrical individuals).
Hah, so I guess all those folks on inactive list are still having fun with you.
I'm speechless with this one. Mainly because I don't understand why political arguments have to come here. It's a Team created to play games, to game, to have fun... hello?!
Because that's how you run the clan, in a corrupted sorta way. You do what you want, but tell your peasants - 'everyone counts. everyone on the same plate. >>we are here to have fun<< (if only i had a dollar for every time you said that line).
All the people defending you in this thread is pretty much all the loyal members you got. Others, probably don't care.
You think your clan is great, good. I don't. That is all.
PS. stike, we were on relatively good terms i remember. But you should definatelly defend leaders, or else you may end up demoted to regulars bro. I understand ;)
