MMS on JB iphone FW2.2 How?

i have a iphone 3g which I JB and have a 2.2 firmware. Now how do I get MMS enables on this. Do I have to restore and unjailbreak?

The 3.0 Messages app may not run on that OS.

iirc you will have to upgrade to at least 3.0 and there are ways to get the carrier file on there.

a search should reveal how to get the carrier file on pre-3.1 software.

How do I do a firmware update from 2.2 to 3.0 or 3.1 whichever is better

i think it depends on whether or not you want to get hacked tethering. with 3.0 or 3.0.1 you can get the tethering, but with 3.1 you can not. i believe that you can jailbreak 3.1 on the 3G but not the 3GS as of right now but i may be wrong.

if you want 3.1 just download the latest version of itunes and click check for update when the iphone is connected.

if you want 3.0 or 3.0.1 just google for the iphone 3G 3.0 or 3.0.1 direct download link and you should find it. it should start with iPhone1,2 (not 1,1 or 2,1) once you download the file, open itunes and click check for update ((WHILE HOLDING THE OPTION KEY)) and navigate to the file that you downloaded.

My iphone 3g is already jailbroken to 2.2 but to get mms enables I need 3.0 or higher. I though to upgrade firmware on a jailbroken phone I had to use pwnage tool or something. Or have things changed?

if you want to remain jailbroken or unlocked you will have to look into how t odo that. not my specialty
