does it have the necessary hook-ups in the back to display my cable tv?

if not, which display monitor may double as a TV and a secondary form of display for my alum unibody MB?

looking forward to a word or two in return! :)

It has only Mini DisplayPort so it won't work as a TV, unless you plug Mac with EyeTV to it. All monitors with DVI or HDMI can be used as TV

what is EyeTV? will it make a newly purchased 24'' display double as a TV? (also, does the 24'' display have one of those cable tv jacks in the back?)

I desire to unplug my 24'' display from my macbook as I please and hook it up as a telivision when I choose to. may any one provide a step by step as to how this is possible?

Hellhammer answered your question the first time. No, it doesn't have the connectors to allow it to be used directly as a TV, unless you keep it hooked up to a Mac and run your cable into it via an EyeTV or other TV tuner. I suggest you google for "EyeTV". Here, I'll do it for you:http://www.google.com/search?q=EyeTV
