HELP!!! Installation Problems!!! ASAP HELP!

Hi,


I'm using a g3 800 iBook running Mac OS X 10.2.1 and everytime I run software update and it says an unexpected error has occured. Anytime I download any program off the net and run the installer a window pops up saying an unexpected error has occured. I even tried using the software restore disk that came with the ibook, same thing. So I am unable to update my software, download software, or even reformat this thing! Help me someone!!

you will still be able to re-format. just put in the OS X CD and then rebot the compy with 'c' held down to boot from the CD. you should definitely be able to do that.

Sounds like a little panic and overstatement. Have you repaired permissions in Disk Utility?
