I am currently looking to change my case. I am using an Otterbox defender Series yellow and black case. I am very abusive with my phone and I work in a dirty environment so I need a lot of protection similar to what the Otterbox case offers. I have looked at the Speck Tough Skin series, which is ok, but I want a change of color from the black, pink, white, and yellow that I have found. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think you are going to find anything quite as protective as the defender.

Maybe you can try one of Otterbox's new Commuter TL (http://www.otterbox.com/iphone-cases/iphone-3g-3gs/iphone-3g-3gs-commuter-tl-case/) cases.

They come in a bunch of colors, I have their regular Commuter and I'm real happy with it.

I have thought about those, but I am scared to go with less protection than what the defender series offers

The commuter looks nice, anybody know how one could use a case like the defender or commuter and still have a way of easily docking the phone in say a Bose Soundock? I'd love to use the commuter, but I dock in the Soundock pretty often, my incase slider is easy enough to dock by removing the bottom, what do you do if using an otterbox case?

Would a dock extender cable work, like this?

You can forget about "easily" docking an iPhone with an Otterbox on it. The Defender is tough, the Commuter is a bit easier but there's still 2 layers to it.
I guess if you practice enough you can do it rather quickly!

got mine in the mail yesterday and it works great...great build, better than something apple would make...worth the money if the defender is your case of choice.
