unhappy with IBM

the inventory overflows are due to the fact that the old p4 ee's were faster, intel have much larger chip manufacturing than ibm it it only because of the ppc architecture that we can keep up with out spending nearly the amount of money that intel spends on research and development, intel is stuck with the anchient x86 instruction set and has resorted to making a risc chip with hardware emulation as this is the only way forward that maintains backwards compatibility it is a great thing that apple jumped off the cisc wagon allog time ago and eventually intel will have to do the same and when they do they will make massive gains in proformence and unless the mac has a 50% market share we'd all be doomed.

intel is haveing the exact same problem as ibm but ibm has lower limits to the number of error s per clock than intel has and this relults in as not so good prosessor yeild but provides more stable procdessors this combined with the demand for the g5 makes the chip in short supply intel rolls off insuperior chips and that is why they has a surplus because no one wants one (relatively speaking)

I might like to point out intel procduction capbily is a lot higher than anyone elses. They have the capbilyt to prodruce all the processors the world needs and still have room to space. That just gives you and idea how much they can make. AMD and IBM both are running a lot to max production capibliltys

I would also like to point out that the chip that is being manufactured is a very sophisticated piece of technology using a cutting-edge fab process. Let's take into consideration all of the logistical factors before we start saying IBM isn't performing, m'kay? These aren't Pentium II processors they're trying to churn out... IBM has a very good reputation at developing the technology and delivering that technology.

Regardless of whether it's IBM, Intel, Zilog, Motorola, Cyrix, etc. that's producing the processors, we're going to run into snags and roadbumps while trapsing on the bleeding edge. Have patience.
