View Full Version : Older iBook cd drive going wild in sleep mode

My boss gave me her laptop to look at this weekend and I've got a strange issue. The cd drive is making a revving noise in around 5 second intervals when I close the ibook's lid. Here is a video I shot of the noise; it keeps repeating in short intervals (not shown in video). Any ideas?

Have you tried resetting the PMU per Apple's instructions (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1431)?
I dont know if that will do it but I just figured I'd offer a suggestion seeing that no one else is replying.

Have you reset the PRAM?

I did reset the PRAM, did not affect the noise
