Help For Installing Tiger!!!!!!

I just downloaded the Tiger Preview, it is a .dmg file. How can i install it? I got a firewire external drive and 2 Macs. Thankx.

I thought Tiger was issued to you developers on dvd disk, but I guess not. hmm. You would double click the .dmg file. Go to root of the install disk thing it creates. Open system, then installation, then packages, then osinstall. When it gets to the select disk, make sure it's on your external drive unless you want to take a chance hurting your data on your internal hard drives.

You're going to have to install Tiger on your external hard drive. To do this you're going to have to close the first window that appears when you mount the Tiger dmg and then once that window is closed double-click on the "Mac OS X Install DVD" disk image. You'll note that opening the disk image this way shows you a different window displaying internal folders. Open the folder marked "System" and then open the next folder called "Installation." Next open the "Packages" folder and then find and open the package marked "OSInstall.mpkg." Go through the dialogs like any OS install and enjoy!
