Hello,

Recently, my black Macbook (I'm running OSX 10.4.11) has stopped recognizing burned CDs. It will still play DVDs, but whenever I insert a CD (that works on other computers), a screen comes up treating it as if it were a blank CD.

Any ideas on how to fix that?

Hope you can help.

You could try to use a DVD/CD cleaner on a disk and see if you can clean the laser inside the player. If no joy, you could replace the optical drive with a replacement drive like the UJ-857 or the UJ-857-c.
