I am a current AT&T customer who just ordered an iPhone for myself and my wife and today I called to check on the status of my order. The SR casually mentioned the phone numbers that are associated with the new hardware and they are different than our current numbers! He said he does not know why new numbers were assigned but said when we get them just to call and they can change them to our current numbers for us. I am skeptical that it is going to be this easy. Anyone ever gone through this before? Any help and reassurance would be greatly appreciated.
 
I work for a wireless carrier. They will just disconnect that accidental number, and make sure that the upgrade dates/contract end dates get changed accordingly on the line that you did the upgrade to the iPhone with. It is easily fixed.
