I need some help with changing the apn for iphone 3.1. Basically in malta we have to pay extra for internet on the iphone and it has to last a month, when we can access it cheaper from other schemes and only for a day. I was wondering what i can do to change the APN on the iphone not for tethering or anything of the sort...just to be able to use a different apn to access internet

Settings->General->Network->Cellular Data Network

no its not an unlocked phone it uses the carriers ipcc

Well, I can change mine on a fully O2 locked phone with standard IPCC...

You should load a new, modified carrier file on to your phone. You can find one pretty easily on this site. Then just enter whatever your carrier's APN is on there.
