Nope =]. Feel free to change.. the manual that came with the laptop should even have instructions on how to do so

No it wont void the warranty. Apple designed it for an easy upgrade. I highly recommend it, regardless of experience level(within reason i suppose). There is also an Apple support document on it. I have done it twice now; it went smoothly both times.
