iphone will not turn on

i had plugged my iphone into a friends ipod charger in his car. after a few seconds iphone screen went white, then off. will not turn on, i tried a hard reset and plugging it in. any suggestions? its a 3g. thank you.

I believe some people have said that it may turn on when you plug it into the computer, if you haven't tried that yet.
