How do I change my name in the from section of an alias

I have an alias, which when I set it up I didn't use my full name, just my first name. I now want to change this to my full name so that I can use it for more professional purposes. I have changed it on the me website and when I send an email from the me website the from field reflects this change. But in mail it still says my original name in the from field. How do I change this or does it just take some time to reset in mail? I have done a sync but nothing has happened yet.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.:)

Are you talking about the Mail application? If so, go into the Accounts tab of Mail preferences. Where it says "Full Name" enter whatever name you want to show up as being "From" you. I don't think it will ever update that automatically.
