U.S. to Canada text message app? [Archive]

Need your guys help.

I have family in Canada and need a text message app that will let me send texts and receive them from the Unites States to Canada for free. Currently have AT&T and they charge me for each text message that i send to Canada.

Push notification is a must. Dont care much for mms, just sms.

Anyone using an app for this ?

Can anyone help?

What carrier(s) does your family use in Canada?

I use ping..
I got it for free the first couple days and I talk to family in texas from vancouver all day long .. phor phreeeeee

What carrier(s) does your family use in Canada?

They have Rogers on a unlocked and jailbroken Edge iPhone.
