How is Johnston prepping for his ultimate unveiling? By hitting the gym three hours a day, six nights a week with a local bodybuilder.

There's no word on what exactly Johnston will be baring for the mag; Butler has yet to return TVGuide.com's call for clarification.

The photographs could potentially serve as a source of embarrassment for Palin, who is often mentioned as a possible presidential candidate for 2012.

Johnston came under the spotlight in Aug. 2008 after Palin, Sen. John McCain's running mate, announced her daughter, Bristol, was pregnant with Johnston's baby and that the two planned to marry.

Johnston has also been pushing for a possible modeling or acting career, spending time in New York and Los Angeles. His first commercial for Wonderful brand pistachios debuted this week.

Nudity is an absolutely natural state, is perfectly 'clean' and wholesome. It only becomes sordid/dirty when it meets the perverted minds of right wing conservatives for whom nudity automatically = sex, and sex automatically = sin.

I second this. I personally feel that many of my peers have sex just to rebel against their parents, without thinking of the consequences. We wouldn't have this issue if sex wasn't this big bad and evil taboo thing that is forbidden, and if parents told their kids that sex is normal and that it's okay to have sex as long as you're careful and responsible.

For many artist, nudity is a natural form of expression, for others it is the way we demonstrate our self appreciation to our bodies by being proud of them (no matter how much).

I have no problem if you wish to present your nudity in a magazine that is paying you for it. It's your body. However, it is up to you to actually buy the magazine to see anything. So this brings me to a point, why would you oppose something (for the sake of the children) when children can't access such material openly? Also, its a paid magazine, so you'd have to actually pay to see him. So, pretty much you are saying children (or are paying) pay for these magazines, which if they do, means there are other issues (parenting for one) besides nudity.

I have no issues with public nudity... So long as it's nice to look at... and btw. I don't know if I am more disgusted by fat people wearing too tight free midriff spandex kind of clothes or full nudity... I think I would actually prefer nudity. At least then they wouldn't look like walking sausages...

That's not that bad. Had you told me 300, I'd be scared. You could take that off fairly easily, but you won't necessarily lose weight, you'll lose bulk. You've seen my pic, but I'm 6'3" and fluctuate between 195 and 200 lbs. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat. If you got on a regular regimen, you'd probably drop that 30 lbs pretty quick and look drastically different. Either that, or you'd tone fast and lose bulk, but not many pounds- which is OK. Age makes a difference as well. How old are you?

I find mornings work best for me- at the end of the day, you don't have a ton of energy. I usually go M-W-F mornings, but sometimes do Tues-Thurs mornings and Fri after work. It helps to let your schedule be flexible. I try to keep weekends free of obligation- you need "you time"! I'll PM Iscariot for you as well. While we seem to be the resident fitness freaks here, he's actually a certified expert.

I think he looks hot in those pics. Granted he might not be overly defined, but there is potential. He has been in the gym a LOT from what I read, Im sure he'll look good for Playgirl. Im with Lee, I for one want to see it. As a side note , he is only posing in his underwear, not naked. Better then nothing though :).

And too all those people complaining, get over it, it's his body and he can do with it as he pleases. There is nothing wrong with posing nude (or in underwear in this case.)

I've already done it in films. I'm sure I'll have another role at some point where nudity is required. Being willing to do nude scenes helps get me parts. You'd be surprised at how well that works.

I don't get the point of him doing this now. It makes no sense whatsoever. It's going to make him look really unfocused career-wise. Honestly- there's no point to him being in Playgirl now. If he's not willing to go all the way, I really think a smarter course would be a Calvin Klein ad, or a Men's Health cover.

Not really. If he did this shoot in the nude, it would be big middle finger to Sarah Palin, which would make him a hero to a lot of people.
