I think he talks about the banner. Nice one actually.

In my opinion, you should stay with the basic templates when using iWeb. This kind of layout is achievable with a CSS template for wordpress and a little coding.

iWeb is everything but easy to customize for me.

OHHH!! I see.. i could hardly see it

That is a little bit more difficult and would probably need to be hand coded.. What they are is a div witha background image of just the strip.. Kind of like it you designed the entire website in photoshop and cut it into chunks.

its pretty complex and not something that is easily dont in a WYSIWYG editor

Yes honestly mate stick with iweb templates.

But I feel like you want more, so why not learning CSS ? You would get total freedom on design... All you need is a text editor. Text Wrangler is free and great.

What I reckon is not to start from scratch as you are a beginner but either to choose a template from http://www.freecsstemplates.org/ and customize it. One day you will feel ready to start your own one.

Believe me it's 10x less frustrating than working with iWeb. iWeb is good to throw a quick photo blog but not to build a refined website on my opinion.

I see, but when having your own divs that are images in photoshop these websites can be very dodgy on an 'absolutely positioned' website?
