From the person who brought you How to have Adobe Flash on your iPhone/iPod Touch (No Jailbreaking Required) (http://forum.theiphoneblog.com/iphone-apps-games/171693-adobe-flash-iphone-available-now-free.html), How to push your Twitter timelines (http://forum.theiphoneblog.com/iphone-apps-games/175000-how-push-twitter-timelines-your-iphone-using-prowl.html), and How to add videos to Photos/send video MMS/trim videos from iPhone 3G (No Jailbreak) (http://forum.theiphoneblog.com/iphone-help/178736-how-add-videos-photos-send-video-mms-trim-videos-iphone-3g-no-jailbreak.html), comes a new app taking advantage of the new APIs in 3.1, Shoot Around.

iTunes Description (LINK (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=333195242&mt=8))

Using the power of the iPhone, you can "shoot" at people/objects around you, with or without them knowing. It shows you a live feed from the camera and allows you to shoot at objects using laser-like projectiles. Simply press the A button to launch a laser missile, or press and hold the B button for rapid fire. Double-tap the screen to go into "Focus Mode". The view will zoom in and a crosshair will appear to help you hit your target more accurately. If you come across something you want to take a picture of, just press both the A and B button to take a picture and save it to your camera roll.

Have an iPod Touch? You don't need to feel left out. On the iPod Touch and iPhone, you have the option to select a photo from your Photo Library and shoot at it to your heart's content. You can pan, zoom, and move the picture around to get the perfect shot. For best results, use photos taken with the iPhone camera (1200x1600, 1600x1200, 1536x2048, 2048x1536) or with a resolution of: 600x800, 800x600, 480x320, or 320x480.

Shoot Around is also one of the first apps in the App Store to allow you to customize the main screen however you want. Choose from Photo Library, Camera (iPhone only), or restore the default background.

All have been redeemed:(

I just looked and found I had one extra. I'll PM it to you. Lucky you :)

EDIT: Either this forum does not allow PMs, or I am not at a high enough post count to do it. Sorry.

Yes, but only the Choose Photo mode. And maybe next time you should read the first post better, as dZp pointed out. :p

Looks good.

I'm a 13 year old too. I'm starting to learn Java right now. Do you have any experience with any other platforms?

That's awesome! How long have you been coding? I'm 16 now, I started at the ripe old age of 9

Good going on programming at 9! This is probably the only real coding I have done, but I dabbled VERY briefly in HTML a few years ago.

Here's a question for everyone that's bought the app....what would you like to see in version 1.1?

Current Features:

Zoom Slider Bar
Device vibrating when shooting
Facebook connectivity
Twitter connectivity
Tap the screen for the crosshair to appear/disappear.

Features in Progress

Taking pictures with the lasers on top of the pictures.

One of the most interesting features in the next version will be Target Practice. Unfortunately this is a iPhone 3GS-only mode, as it requires the compass. It will place targets at random points around you. It could be positioned at any of the 360 degrees, so you'll be twisting around trying to find each before the time runs out!

Wait 1.1 will have that? Or is that the update AFTER 1.1?

So I'm curious, do you have to use the laggy compass, or can you use the video feed to track movement?

Well the current version doesn't use any movement tracking whatsoever, if that's what your asking. The version coming out with use the magnetometer to see what direction you are facing.

I have completed the lasers-on-snapshot part of the 1.1 update. Only Target practice to finish before its release.

You're the developer? And you're really 13?

You write and express yourself better than many college-educated 25-year-olds.

Bravo on your exploits there.
