I just went to the Apple store, and bought one for £206 which had a discount of £23 applied, because I recycled an old iPod. The model I am quoting is LAST YEARS MODEL - 2G!. General UK price for the 32Gb 3G iPod touch is £229. I bet they don't sell many of these! :D

To the OP - why would i have a clue what the exchange rate is? It's $299 here in the states, so since i have no reason to monitor the exchange rate, it doesn't sound that bad if i think that it must be close to the dollar....

I figured it was high given your comments, but it wasn't worth it to go track down the exchange rate of the day.

Anyway that is a ridiculous price, can you order it from Apple in your country? And I'm sure that there's other options in your country for buying iPod touches, vote with your wallet, haha.

Weren't you over-reacting to someone's pricing online? Does not the adage apply of, "what the market will bear".

I'm just pointing out that to me, and perhaps others, your message was very.... something.

I totally sympathize with the issues with Apple pricing outside of the US. But most threads have a comparison - either in US dollars, or in your case, sharing what the official pricing from Apple is... it just made it hard to say, "WOW, that is insane! :eek:" along with you.

It's a known fact that apple has higher prices in the UK than the US. This specific seller is selling the items for an even higher price.

Is the lesson to be learned that different people sell items at different prices?

Why not use British pounds sterling; after all, we have been here MANY HUNDREDS of years before America or Australia, as we know them today, became populated.
