Gmail issues this morning [Archive]

Hi all,

Is anyone else having trouble connecting with Gmail this morning? I've tried Edge, 3G, and WiFi, but I keep getting the "connection to the server failed" message.

In the Charlotte area ...

From GPush, yes; but from Safari, no (haven't tried through iPhone's native email app yet).

Thanks GFSarah. The issues I'm having are on the native iPhon mail app. I wonder how widespread it is.

Gmail is fine for me, including push.

web access for me (on a desktop with a fast broadband internet connection) has been glacially slow. IMAP on my iPhone works, but is also very slow.

There might be a problem with Gmail (again).

Not pushing on the iPhone. I'm getting "connection to the server failed" message as well. Mail is coming in fine on desktop though.

Yeah, push isn't working. Can't even manually get new mail. I noticed about 3-4 hours ago. It was working yesterday and actually this morning too. :(

it was down for me until 1 PM PST... there was an official outage per the google sync help forum.

I like gpush but it has a couple of annoying flaws such as not syncing older (1+ week) e-mails... hope it gets better with time.

It's been pretty sloppy today. I will get the messages but they won't come up as read on the server. Just on my iPhone.

Was unable to connect to gmail via exchange server (setup for push) so set it to inactive and reactivated the original one which is default setup through the mail app. This worked no problems.

Very odd.

I haven't had push for 3 days. It may work for a small period of time when it pushes all the email backed up into my inbox.

I've gone back to the ole imap ways for the moment.

My exchange account seems to be worthless now. It useto work fine, but now it takes hours to even get my mail updated.
