Damn! Same for me! I've got a test to study for and I uploaded all my docs to my idisk so I can leave my MBP at home. THE one time I use it for anything important too! Was there any warning for this if it was a planned outage? I understand but I want to be more aware in the future.

Doesn't look planned. From Apple's MobileMe System Status page:

All MobileMe Services
MobileMe members are intermittently unable to access MobileMe services. Mail is available via a desktop email application, or Mail on iPhone or iPod touch. Normal service will be restored ASAP. We apologize for any inconvenience.
