iPod imac + ipod dock remote control

is there anyway to stop the ipod dock receiving the IR remote? whenever i have my ipod connected to the dock anything i press whilst using front row does something on the dock aswell, i have no need to have the dock receive the IR as i play all my music through my imac.

That combined with pairing the other remote with the dock has fixed my problem, Thanks!
