I was thinking about doing a trade using the marketplace forum.
I was just wondering if there has been any bad experiences?

Here (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=245008) is a good one.
The new rules about post count and time of membership make it so that those solely looking to scam have to put in quite a bit of effort. In the end, if anyone has enough determination, then they could pull off a scam.

In the end, the MacRumors community stepped up and played an important rule in resolving the situation.

Thats good. I cant imagine the amount of scams going on without the requirements. Especially with Apple Computers being popular here....

I mean, the scams go on, just look around at the random cell phone sales, they are clearly scams and are taken down rather quickly. But with the new requirements, there has been only one or two cases I can remember of problems.

There are always going to be horror stories. I've been trading computer equipment online for over 10 years without incident. You can take certain precautions like checking the posting history of the person you're trading with to make sure they didn't just spam a bunch to meet he minimum posting requirement OR you can only trade with people who have feedback. Many people have feedback on beerology or heatware, feedback forums similar to that used by ebay.
